Yes, being a supportive improviser means listening and reacting to your scene partner, but it also means giving to your scene partner through strong, specific, active choices. In this workshop we'll focus on how character point of view, emotional reactions, and specificity can drive your scene work to the next level. You'll get out of "neutral" and learn how a healthy dose of selfishness frees you to make fun, authentic choices to enrich your scene and deepen the relationship between you and your scene partner. Let's see what happens when we get specifically selfish!Henrik Blix has written comedy for TV and performed sketch, improv, and standup around the country. Most recently he was a writer for The Problem with Jon Stewart on AppleTV+. Previously he performed for the Second City in Chicago and contributed headlines to The Onion. You can watch him do comedy all over NYC or online @henrikontheweb from the comfort of your very own bathtub.
Maria Randazzo is a two-time WGA Award-nominated writer, actress, and Brooklyn lady with bangs. Her most recent credit is as a staff writer on the Emmy-nominated Apple Original series The Problem with Jon Stewart.
She’s contributor for Reductress and you can catch her doing sketch and improv around NYC.
She’s also co-host, creator, and producer of The List podcast which you can think of as The View, yassified.
Prior to NYC, Maria was an actor and writer with the Second City in Chicago.
She’s a graduate of Loyola University Chicago, a native of Cleveland (jealous??!), and
climate change pending, will retire in Miami to the Golden Girls lifestyle of her dreams.Enrollment open to the public.

A word from Cody…
For many actors, comedy training is essential for honing their craft. I spent my entire tenure in LA training at the Upright Citizens Brigade, eventually landing in their advanced program and performing on an independent team. Oklahoma has been home to numerous talented comedians and improvisers over the years, and we are thrilled to create a community where they can regularly train and perform. CMSimprov draws inspiration from the exceptional training found at the nation's leading comedy institutions and is led by a true professional, Ryan “Arch” Archibald, who has an incredible resume & career in the art. At CMSimprov we strive for excellence on stage and look forward to entertaining Tulsa and Oklahoma for many years to come!
This is only the beginning.
